Every painting is personally hand-painted by Diane Mowery as an original work of fine art and includes a certificate of authenticity.

A commissioned painting simply means artwork created specifically for you from your photo or idea.

Has your wedding day passed? You can still have the same heirloom painting - often with even more detail.

A studio wedding painting is created from your favorite photographer photos in my studio, at the same large size as my live wedding paintings. Because I'm not racing the reception clock, I can take extra time on the details. And because there's no travel, setup, and 8-hour live event, it costs significantly less than a live wedding.

Many of my custom wedding paintings are for 1st anniversaries, or for couples who didn't know live painting existed until after their day.

final pricing is based on size, Medium, and complexity, including the number of figures and level of detail.

A deposit is required to reserve your commission. the amount depends on the size of your painting and is applied toward the final amount.

fAQs for Custom wedding paintings from photos

  • The finished artwork is the same heirloom oil painting, same large sizes - 24x36, 30x40. The difference is process and price. A studio painting is created entirely in my studio from your photographer photos, so I have more time for intricate details. There's no travel or live event, so it costs significantly less than a live wedding day.

  • Your professional wedding photos are perfect. I can work from 2-3 favorite images to create the ideal composition - for example, your ceremony moment with your reception florals and lighting in the background. Phone photos work too if that's what you have. During our consultation we'll choose the moment together, just like we do for live paintings.

  • Anytime! I paint studio wedding pieces for couples married last month or 20 years ago - they are especially popular for 1st anniversaries. Most 24x36 studio wedding paintings are completed in 6-8 weeks after your retainer and photo selection. If you have an anniversary date in mind, just tell me in the inquiry.

  • Almost anything meaningful to you! I most often paint beloved pets, family portraits from your photos, homes, horses and other animals, proposals, and special places like your family farm or lake house. If you have a photo and a story, I can likely paint it. Just tell me about your vision in the inquiry form.

  • A clear, well-lit photo where I can see the details is best - natural light is ideal. For pets, a photo at their eye level where their personality shines through is perfect. You don't need a professional photo, but the clearer the reference, the more detail I can include. I can combine elements from 2-3 photos if needed, and I'll let you know if I need a different angle.

  • Pricing is based on size, medium, and complexity including number of figures and level of detail. You can see starting prices listed above for both watercolor on paper and oil on canvas. After you send your photo and ideas, I'll provide a personalized quote and timeline. Yes - custom paintings make wonderful gifts and I do offer gift certificates! Just mention it's a gift in your inquiry.

Complete the inquiry form below and tell me a little about the painting you’d love. You don’t need to have every detail or reference photo ready - we’ll work through those together.

2. We’ll plan your painting

I’ll help you choose the ideal size, discuss your ideas, review photos and provide a personalized quote and estimated timeline.

3. Your painting comes to life

Once your commission is approved and your retainer is recieved, I’ll begin creating your artwork and keep you updated until it’s ready for delivery.

A deposit reserves your commission and allows work to begin.
