How the guest portrait experience works

  1. Choose Your Experience
    Select the guest portrait experience that best fits your celebration. Whether you’re looking for live guest portraits during your celebration or Complete Guest Coverage after the event, I’’l help you choose the option that’s right for your guest count and timeline.

  2. Reserve Your Date
    Once you’ve selected your experience, a signed agreement and non-refundable retainer secure your event date. We’ll then discuss your timeline, guest count, and any special requests to ensure everything is planned for a seamless experience.

  3. Guests Enjoy the Experience
    Throughout your celebration, guests are invited to have their portraits painted individually, as couples, or with family members. A dedicated Guest Portrait Assistant helps coordinate the portrait queue and guest flow while I focus on creating each watercolor keepsake.

  4. Beautiful Keepsakes to Take Home
    Finished portraits are placed in protective sleeves and are ready for guests to take home during the event. If you’ve selected Complete Guest Coverage, any remaining portraits will be completed afterward from event photos and delivered to the event organizer once finished.

Guest portraits are painted live in a loose, watercolor style. Couples may choose expressive facial features or an elegant faceless style, depending on the look they prefer.

Each piece captures the essence of the guest — their posture, attire, and presence — resulting in portraits that feel elegant, expressive, and cohesive as a collection.

Select details, such as flowing fabrics or evening attire, may be enhanced with subtle mica-based shimmer, adding depth and light-catching interest while remaining refined and timeless.

The bride & groom signature watercolor portrait

Elevate your guest portrait experience with a custom watercolor created especially for the two of you. Unlike live guest portraits, this larger watercolor is completed in my studio after your celebration, allowing additional time for refinement while preserving the beauty and emotion of your wedding day receiving the time and attention needed for a more finished, lasting keepsake that captures a special moment from the day.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Every celebration is unique, but I typically complete approximately 1 portrait every 10 minutes or 6 portraits per hour. Because many guests choose to be painted as couples, significantly more guests are often included than the portrait count alone suggests.

  • A beautifully styled guest portrait station is set up at your reception or event, complete with a tabletop easel and display.

    A dedicated Guest Portrait Assistant warmly welcomes guests, answers questions, takes each guest’s photo, and manages the portrait queue throughout the celebration.

    Once their photo is taken, guests are free to return to the celebration while their portrait is being painted live. Finished portraits are displased a they’re completed and can be collected toward the end of the evening.

    To give as many guests as possible the opportunity to receive a portrait, the assistant helps to ensure each guest or couple is painted once before repeat portraits are offered, if time allows.

  • To create a comfortable and efficient painting station, I ask that the venue provide a table, a chair, and access to a nearby electrical outlet I bring all painting supplies, display materials, and everything needed to create a beautiful guest portrait experience.

    The size of the table will depend on the number of artists booked and will be confirmed during the planning process.

  • Popular dated, expecially during peak wedding season, can book several months in advance. I recommend reserving your date as early as possible to ensure availability.

  • Most guest portraits are completed during your celebration and are displayed as they’re finished. Guests are welcome to collect their portraits before they leave the event.

    If you’ve selected Complete Guest Coverage, any remainging portraits will be completed afterward from your event photographs. Once finished, they are carefully packaged and delivered to you after the event.

  • A signed agreement and a $500 non-refundable retainer are required to reserve your event date. Once both are receive, your date is officially secured on my calendar. The remaining balance is due prior to the event.
