The Experience
Every live wedding painting experience begins with thoughtful planning. Before your wedding day, we’ll discuss your vision, the atmosphere of your event, and how you’d like the artwork to reflect a meaningful moment or experience.
On the wedding day, I paint on-site as the celebration unfolds. My setup is designed to be unobtrusive, allowing guests to observe if they wish while the artwork develops naturally alongside the event.
As the evening flows on and the reception draws to a close, there’s a meaningful moment when the painting is revealed to the couple for the first time. Whether they choose to share that reveal with all their guests or keep it more personal, it often becomes a highlight of the night.

After the wedding, the painting is refined in my studio. This is the point where I may adjust the color, edges, and details, completing the finishing touches before varnishing and preparing it for delivery.
Once complete, the painting is prepared for delivery and returned to you as a lasting piece created in connection with your wedding day.

This option focuses on the creation of a single original painting on canvas designed to preserve a meaningful moment from your wedding day. The artwork is developed live during the celebration and completed in the studio after the event, resulting in a finished piece created as a lasting part of your home.
While the painting is created primarily as an heirloom for the couple, the live process also becomes a natural point of interest for guests. As the artwork takes shape throughout the evening, guests are welcome to observe as the painting develops, creating an engaging experience for the couple and their guests alike.
Live Guest Portraits
This option centers on live-painted watercolor guest portraits created during the event. Each portrait is painted individually and offered as a keepsake that guests can take home as a wedding favor.
Rather than focusing on a single heirloom artwork this experience is designed to create a memeorable and interactive element for guests while offering them a personal memento from your celebration.

For heirloom live wedding paintings, I typically use acrylic paint on a pre-stretched canvas. After the wedding, the painting is refined in my studio, where I layer oil paint over acrylic paint to build depth, richness, and subtle detail before varnishing.
For live guest portraits, I work in watercolor accented with pen and alcohol markers to produce elegant, expressive keepsakes for each guest.

Yes. I serve weddings within approximately one hour of my home base without additional travel requirements.
For locations such as San Antonio, Houston, or Dallas — which typically involve two to four hours of travel - this often requires committing the full day to travel, setup, and painting. For these events, travel considerations are discussed in advance and reflected in your custom proposal.
For longer distances, late-evening schedules, or multi-day events, overnight accomodations may be necessary to ensure the day is handled thoughtfully, safely, and without rushing.
For weddings requiring air travel, arrangements may include airfare, ground transportation, and one overnight stay. Depending on the location and scope of the event, transporting painting materials and equipment as checked luggage may also be required.
All travel details are discussed in advance during the consultation process so expectations are aligned well in advance and there are no surprises.

My setup is simple and self-contained and typically does not require assistance from venue staff. I bring my own portable easel. The venue simply needs to designate a small painting area in advance of my arrival, approximately 4’x6’, either indoors or outdoors.
Access to a nearby power outlet for lighting, wifi, a water source, and a sink or similar location for disposing of paint water is also helpful.
Additionally, the painting area should be positioned where I have a clear view of the scene I will be painting.

For heirloom live wedding paintings, the focus is typically on the couple and a specific moment from the day. Additional figures, including guests or pets, can be added for a fee of $75 per person or pet. Details can be discussed during planning to ensure the painting remains clear and intentional.

Some may choose the reception for the setting. The painting might reflect the first dance, a grand ballroom scene, or the overall energy of the celebration as guests gather and the space comes alive.
When planning the moment, I coordiate closely with your timeline and often work alongside your photograpehr so the painting reflects a natural, meaningful perspective. Together, we choose a moment that feels authentic to you and translates beautifully into a finished work of art.

Booking begins with a confirmed availability check, followed by an introductory consultation by phone or email. Following our discussion, I will create a custom proposal for your event.
Once a proposal is selected, a signed contract and a 50% retainer are required to reserve your date on my calendar. The remaining balance is due two weeks prior to your wedding date.
